Put your easel in our landscapes with Mark

Painting by Mark Warner, a tutor at The Watermill at Posara painting holidays/vacations, Tuscany, Italy. Our talented, enthusiastic and inspiring English painting tutor Mark Warner has an engaging habit of taking a picture of his easel in the landscapes he paints. There’s one above. We’d like you to do the same and put your easel in our landscapes during Mark’s painting week with us this Summer. Details below. Eight people are already booked in, so we have room for just three or four more painters.

Actually, you don’t even have to bring your own easel unless you want to: we’ll lend you one of our lightweight ones when we go out to one of our stunning locations during the week, including a castle with a village nestling at its feet, a walled Medieval town, a privately-owned convent and a hilltop village with extraordinary views of the mountains.

You can use it, too, in the watermill courtyard, walled garden and along the riverside and millstream. Don’t forget to take a photo, like Mark.

Mark lives in Shropshire in England and is not only a respected artist but also a highly professional tutor with many years of teaching experience. Mark is passionate about working outside, tutoring numerous day and residential plein air holidays. His sessions are very popular — and he leads by example, creating a relaxed and encouraging environment.  He says I adore using colour while interpreting the light, weather and a love for the materials. I work directly in the field (literally on many occasions!) from sketches created outside as well as notes/photographs taken on location.”

He says: “I continue to draw inspiration from the landscape, although subject matter can be broad and at times very different.”
