Spectacular locations, whatever the weather

The Watermill at Posara for painting, creative writing, knitting, and Italian language holidays/vacations/workshops, Tuscany, Italy.

Although the weather wasn’t of the kindest this week, our painting guests on Charles Sluga’s course seemed to enjoy themselves and to have learned a lot from Charles’s excellent teaching. We managed to get out on location most days and, judging by the number of paintings on show at the impromptu exhibition in the studio yesterday evening, our guests were particularly productive.

Above you can see some of our guests on the last painting day, yesterday, at the thousand-year-old hilltop village of Monte dei Bianchi, painting in the small grassy piazza outside the church, with spectacular views of the Apuan Alps, the marble mountains of Carrara. And here’s Charles, earlier in the week, demonstrating how to paint trees!

Just half a day of rain, you can’t do better than that in September-October. The weather was fine. The food great. The company excellent. As for the tutor, I have never came across somebody who can teach so much in such a short time and inspire at the same time. Well done Charles! It was a pleasure to meet you.

    • Dear Mary, thank you so much for your kind comment. It was a pleasure once again to enjoy your company and your enthusiasm for our offering. We can’t wait until the next time. With warm regards BB
